maurices’ philanthropic vision is simple: We want to empower women and children to be their best. We support that vision by creating health and wellness programs and supporting professional opportunities, self-esteem, basic needs and community improvement with $8.5 million in giving each year.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. That means doing all we can to support breast cancer detection and early awareness, from our “Shop Pink. Give Hope.” campaign to participating in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks.
Partnering with the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer is a key focus for maurices. In 2012, we were honored with the Corporate Impact Award: Excellence in Philanthropy for donating more than $1 million to the Society, in collaboration with our sister company dressbarn.
As a hometown specialty retailer, we empower our associates to give back to their community. From collecting food or toys for the less fortunate and putting together care packages for our troops overseas to helping out at local schools.
Each year, maurices donates millions of dollars in clothing to the Missing Persons Foundation. By advertising free clothing in high-crime areas, the nonprofit is able to provide people with education and tools on child safety, including fingerprinting.
